Workplace Adjustments

Workplace adjustments play a vital role in creating an inclusive and productive environment where every employee can perform at their best. They can be simple, low‑cost changes such as flexible working arrangements, supportive equipment or adapted processes that remove barriers for people with physical, neurodivergent, sensory, mental health or other needs, helping them thrive in their roles.

These adjustments are tailored to the individual, enabling staff to work safely, comfortably and confidently while helping employers build a healthier, more engaged and resilient workforce. By embracing workplace adjustments, businesses meet their legal responsibilities and unlock the full potential of their teams, fostering a culture where everyone can contribute and succeed.

To help businesses feel confident in offering the support their teams need, we’ve curated a list of trusted websites and resources that provide practical guidance, tools, and best‑practice examples. These resources can help you find out more and give you the information you need to implement any adjustments.
Inclusion Passport
The Inclusion Passport is a voluntary, confidential document that helps employees clearly record the support or workplace adjustments they need, making conversations with their line manager easier and ensuring these needs are recognised as roles or circumstances change. It is designed for anyone who may benefit from additional support at work, including those with disabilities or long‑term conditions, caring responsibilities, religious observance needs, or life changes such as menopause or becoming a new parent
