Come and join others for the Kent Construction Focus Group meeting, which is an opportunity to discuss current trends, challenges, and opportunities within the construction sector.

This month, we’ll be visiting Discovery Park in Sandwich, where you’ll be able to network with others while enjoying a variety of Breakfast Baps and Pastries.

The Kent Construction Focus Group (KCFG) is a one-stop-shop for local businesses to discuss the future of Kent development, giving companies access to local knowledge, expertise and contracts. KCFG promotes the future role of Kent land development and construction businesses in the growth and development of Kent and its environment.

Hosted by members of the KCFG committee, Cheryl Causebrook and Ella Brocklebank.

This month’s guest speakers are:

Charlotte Laherty, Caxtons Property Consultants

Born and resident in Kent, Charlotte graduated from the London South Bank University with a Distinction in MSc Real Estate Appraisal. Charlotte joined Caxtons in 2011 and now heads up the Commercial Management and Investment departments. She specialises in acquiring and disposing of real estate assets and managing diverse commercial property portfolios for a variety of clients.

Caxtons Property Consultants provide market leading advice to people in property delivered by a professional team of property managers, agents, consultants and chartered surveyors.

An independent, long-established firm we offer expertise in commercial and residential property management, commercial property sales, lettings and acquisitions, valuation, lease advisory, investment and insurance, to businesses and individuals across commercial and residential sectors in Kent and the south east.

Chris Broom, Discovery Park

Chris brings more than 20 years of inward investment and commercial experience in both public and private sectors across the SME and corporate landscape.

He joined Discovery Park in 2019 and is responsible for managing the commercial and leasing strategy, working to attract new occupiers as well as engaging with the tenant community to ensure they have access to the right networks and business support to achieve their growth ambitions.

Mark Houliston, Canterbury Archaeological Trust

With over 30 years of commercial experience, Mark has a proven record in setting up and delivering a wide range of archaeological and cultural-heritage projects. By looking at schemes in detail and predicting potential problems in advance, Mark has successfully helped many clients avoid excessive costs and unnecessary delays.

Mark started his career with Canterbury Archaeological Trust back in the mid-1980s. He returned four years ago as Director of Commercial Services having spent time working for and running a number of UK-based archaeological companies.

Canterbury Archaeological Trust was founded in the late 1970s and over the years has developed a strong reputation for quality. A particular strength has been the delivery of added-value through public engagement and outreach. During recent years increasing emphasis on technological innovation, the development of management systems and the adoption of policies in areas such as net-zero and sustainability, has pushed the Trust to new hights, emphasising its role as Kent’s premier, professionally-registered, archaeological company.
